L'Aiguille and the Porte d'Eval, Etretat

Story

Two tall rock formations rise from green-blue water, set against a pale sky along the coastal cliffs of Etretat. The sea stretches calmly beneath the stone towers, with light suggesting an open, airy atmosphere. This oil painting was created in 1886 by Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French artist associated with Impressionism, whose other notable works include Impression, Sunrise and Haystacks.
