Story
Figures rest in a meadow washed with sunlight, scattered trees breaking the open field beneath a pale blue sky. Soft greens, yellows, and lavenders blend together, giving the scene a loose, airy feel. This oil painting, titled L'Ete (Summer), was created in 1874 by Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism, and is held at the Alte Nationalgalerie.
