Story
A Venetian palace facade rises above the water, its stone surfaces dissolved into soft blues, purples, and greens, while gondolas drift along the canal below. The composition captures light and reflection rather than precise architectural line. Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter and graphic artist, made this piece within the Impressionism movement, known also for Impression, Sunrise, Haystacks, and Garden at Sainte-Adresse.
Where it works
Cool-toned artwork suited to living rooms and bedrooms, and to hotel guest rooms, in a horizontal format.
