Story
A water garden fills the scene, its surface scattered with pink and yellow lilies among green foliage, while willows lean softly at the edges, all rendered in blended, hazy brushwork. The composition favors color and light over sharp outline, letting the pond's reflections dissolve into the surrounding greenery. Claude Monet, a French painter and graphic artist (1840–1926), worked within Impressionism, a movement also represented by his piece Impression, Sunrise.
