Story
Pale lily pads and blossoms drift across a hazy pond, rendered in gentle greens, whites, and purplish pinks that blur into the water's surface. This oil painting was created in 1907 by Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism. The work entered the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art through the bequest of Anne Parrish Titzell.
