Story
A busy walkway along a river draws the eye, lined with trees and buildings, while people stroll beneath a cloudy sky and a domed structure rises across the water. The oil painting dates from 1866. It was made by Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism, whose other notable works include Impression, Sunrise and Haystacks. It is held at Kunstmuseum Den Haag.
