Story

Boats gather on a river, their hulls scattered between slender sailboats and small rowboats resting on rippling blue water. Along the bank, trees and buildings rise beneath a sky filled with soft clouds, suggesting a quiet riverside town. This oil painting dates to 1875. Claude Monet (1840–1926) was a French painter associated with Impressionism, also known for Impression, Sunrise.
