A green curve of a Japanese bridge peeks through thick, tangled foliage, surrounded by washes of yellow, pink, and red that blur the structure almost into the plants around it. The piece is an oil painting completed in 1918. Claude Monet, a French painter and graphic artist who lived from 1840 to 1926, made this work within the Impressionist movement, known also for Impression, Sunrise.
