Story

A quiet river scene unfolds with drooping willow branches along the left bank, a smooth stretch of water, and a cluster of red-roofed buildings in the distance beneath a soft blue sky scattered with clouds. This oil on canvas was created in 1873 by Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism, now held at the Musée d'Orsay.
