The Seine at Giverny

Story

A quiet river winds between banks thick with green foliage, the pale blue sky scattered with white clouds above the water. Monet painted this oil work in 1885, rendering the scene with soft attention to light and reflection. He was a French painter associated with Impressionism, also known for Garden at Sainte-Adresse. The piece entered its museum through an appropriation fund, acquired by exchange.
