Story

A hazy riverbank unfolds in soft greens along the left side, trees crowding close to the water, while pale blue currents mirror a sky thick with morning fog. The painting is rendered in oil by Claude Monet, a French painter associated with Impressionism. The piece entered the North Carolina Museum of Art through purchase funds provided by two supporting organizations.
