Story
Sailboats rest quietly along the Seine, their masts rising near buildings that line the riverbank. Cypress trees stand among the structures, while a cloudy sky stretches overhead in soft greens, blues, and ochres, giving the whole scene a hushed, atmospheric quality. The piece, titled The Seine at Rouen, was painted by Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French artist associated with Impressionism, also known for Impression, Sunrise.
