The Seine near Giverny

Story

A quiet river winds beneath a pale blue sky scattered with white clouds, its banks thick with green vegetation rendered in soft, feathery brushwork. The water lies still, mirroring the gentle light above. This oil painting, titled The Seine near Giverny, was created in 1885 by Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism, known also for Haystacks.
