The Water Lilies - Clear Morning with Willows

Story

Drooping branches of willow trees frame a quiet pond, its surface covered with lilies rendered in gentle shades of blue, green, and purple. The water seems to blend into the overhanging foliage, creating a hazy, dreamlike atmosphere. This piece, painted in 1914, is held at the Musée de l'Orangerie. Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism, also created Impression, Sunrise.
