Story
An arched wooden footbridge crosses a still pond, its surface dotted with water lilies, while weeping willows lean in around the water in soft tones of green and blue. The scene is rendered in oil, completed in 1899. The artist, Claude Monet (1840–1926), was French and worked within Impressionism; the piece is held at the Musée d'Orsay, and he also created Impression, Sunrise.
