Story

A green meadow stretches beneath a cloudy sky, dotted with small figures enjoying the open air. Tall trees rise along the edges, while in the distance a steam locomotive pulls a passenger train across a raised track, cutting through the quiet countryside scene. Painted in oil in 1870, the work is held at the Musée d'Orsay. Claude Monet, a French painter associated with Impressionism, created this landscape painting.
