Story
An arched wooden footbridge crosses a pond thick with water lilies, framed by weeping willows and layered green foliage rendered in greens, blues, and earthy browns. The scene is painted in oil, completed in 1899. It is the work of Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism. The piece entered the Princeton Art Museum through the Osborn family's gift to the collection.
