Waterlilies

Story

A quiet pond fills the canvas, its surface scattered with lily pads and blossoms in shades of green, purple, pink, and white. The flowers seem to drift gently across the water, catching soft reflections of light. Painted in oil in 1914, the work belongs to Claude Monet, a French painter associated with Impressionism, whose later years were devoted to studies of his water garden.
