Waterlilies

Story

Clusters of blossoms drift across a quiet pool, their rounded leaves scattered amid soft tones of jade, azure, and pale gold. The surface seems to blur beneath loose, misty strokes, as if light itself were dissolving into water. This oil painting dates from 1906 and belongs to the Ohara Museum of Art. Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism, also created the notable work Impression, Sunrise.
