Story
A bridge spanning the Thames emerges faintly through drifting haze, its form softened by smoke and mist. Pale blues and violets blend with golden tones where sunlight breaks through the atmosphere, giving the whole scene a hazy, shifting quality. This oil painting was created in 1903 by Claude Monet, a French painter associated with Impressionism, known also for Haystacks.
