Story
A hazy river scene unfolds beneath a faint, glowing sun, its soft light scattered across tones of blue, gray, and orange. Below, the arches of a bridge appear faintly mirrored in the water, blurred by atmosphere. This oil painting was made in 1903 by Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism, whose other works include Impression, Sunrise.
