Story
Clusters of purple and pink blossoms spill downward across the canvas, trailing above a water surface rendered in shades of blue and green, with soft yellow-green leaves scattered throughout. The composition favors color and texture over sharp detail, giving the whole scene a gentle, drifting quality. This oil painting, titled Wisteria, was completed in 1925 by Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism, also known for Haystacks. It is held at Kunstmuseum Den Haag.
