Story

A woman stands in a sunlit meadow scattered with wildflowers, dressed in white and tilting a green parasol as clouds drift overhead. The scene is rendered in oil, completed in 1886. The piece belongs to Claude Monet (1840–1926), a French painter associated with Impressionism, whose notable works include Impression, Sunrise. It is held at the Musée d'Orsay.
