Story

Four pale birds with dark heads face outward in a mirrored pattern, circling a cluster of round forms at the center. Behind them, bands of rust, gold, and green stretch across the surface, giving the composition a layered, earthen rhythm. This acrylic piece dates to 1985. Its maker, Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri (1932–2002), was an Australian First Nation painter also known for Warlugulong.
