Story

Chalky, pastel-like marks spread across a dark blue-grey surface, their soft texture interrupted by solid black rectangular shapes layered on top. The composition balances loose, drawn gestures against hard-edged geometry. Dan Hobday created this piece, titled Blues 1, as an abstract work exploring contrast and surface.
