Wild Asters

Story

A curving creek cuts through a grassy field, its blue water bordered by white asters and tall wild grasses swaying along the banks. The meadow stretches open under soft light, giving a sense of a quiet rural stretch of land. Painted in oil in 1889, the work reflects American Impressionism. Dennis Miller Bunker, who lived from 1861 to 1890, was an American painter working in this style.
