The Dancing Class

Story

A row of young ballet dancers in pale tutus gathers in a studio with green walls, guided by an instructor dressed in dark clothing. Several dancers wear their hair pulled into chignons, with chestnut and brown tones visible among them. The scene captures a quiet moment of rehearsal rather than performance. Painted in oil in 1873, the work belongs to the Musée d'Orsay and reflects Edgar Degas's association with Impressionism.
