The Sleeping Princess

Story

A woman in flowing white drapery lies asleep on an elaborately adorned bed, while a companion keeps watch beside her in a chamber filled with deep green and gold hues. The scene is rendered in oil. Edward Burne-Jones, who lived 1833–1898 and was British, created this work as part of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and the Symbolism movement, both associated with his artistic practice.

Where it works

Warm-toned artwork suited to bedrooms and living rooms, and to hotel guest rooms, in a horizontal format.
