At The Seashore

Story

A woman wearing a pink dress wades in shallow surf while other bathers share the shore nearby, with weathered wooden posts rising along the water's edge. The composition suggests a lively coastal day, rendered with loose brushwork typical of American Impressionism. Edward Henry Potthast I (1857–1927), an American painter, worked within this movement, capturing scenes of leisure by the sea with attention to light and atmosphere across the beach setting.

Where it works

A pastel seascape suited to living rooms and bedrooms, and to hotel guest rooms, in a horizontal format.
