Story

A young man with dark, swept-back hair gazes out, dressed in a striped shirt rendered in ochre, blue, and red hues. The composition is built with pencil and colors on paper, completed in 1910. Egon Schiele (1890–1918), an Austrian artist associated with Expressionism, created this self-portrait, now held at the Leopold Museum.
