Story
A woman stands in a pleated blue dress, tending to a bright arrangement of flowers in a vase, her image caught in a nearby mirror as she works. The scene unfolds in oil, painted in 1915. Frederick Carl Frieseke, an American painter (1874–1939), worked within Impressionism, favoring soft light and domestic calm. The painting entered the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston as the gift of an anonymous donor.
