Story

A wooden bridge spans a stretch of blue water beneath a dusting of snow, with traditional Japanese buildings nestled along the bank and snow covered mountains rising behind. This color woodblock print was made in 1920 by Goyō Hashiguchi, a Japanese artist who lived from 1880 to 1921, working as a painter and ukiyo-e artist. The piece entered the Toledo Museum of Art as a gift from Hubert D. Bennett.
