Story

A thick carpet of blooms fills the frame, with tall sunflowers rising above red poppies, scattered white blossoms, and clusters of purple flowers set against dense green leaves. No sky or horizon breaks the view, just layered color and texture crowding the canvas edge to edge. The piece is an oil on canvas completed in 1906 by Gustav Klimt (1862–1918), an Austrian artist associated with Art Nouveau, Jugendstil, and Symbolism, known also for Adele Bloch-Bauer II.

Where it works

Suited to living rooms and kitchens, and to hotel guest rooms, in a vertical format.
