Story

A young girl wears a white dress and a garland of flowers, standing before a pink backdrop scattered with small blossoms and little decorative objects. The painting is an oil work completed in 1912 by Gustav Klimt (1862–1918), an Austrian artist associated with Art Nouveau, Jugendstil, and Symbolism. The piece is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where it represents his delicate approach to portraiture.
