Story
Wide open farmland spreads across the canvas, speckled with small red blossoms, running back toward a cluster of buildings set beneath a soft pale sky. The expanse of yellow dominates the composition, giving the land a bright, open feel. Gustave Caillebotte painted this oil work in 1884. He was a French artist associated with Impressionism, also known for Paris Street; Rainy Day.
