Story

A figure in a pale hat and gown pauses near a man dressed in formal black attire and a tall hat, both turned toward a rider mounted on a chestnut horse amid an open outdoor setting. The scene unfolds in oil on canvas, painted in 1899. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864–1901), a French artist associated with Post-impressionism, is also known for At the Moulin Rouge. The piece belongs to the Musée Toulouse-Lautrec.
