Story
A dark human shape stands near a river's edge, piping on a flute while a snake uncoils nearby. Dense tropical foliage fills the scene under a pale moon, and a pink bird perches among the leaves. The piece is an oil painting completed in 1907 by Henri Rousseau (1844–1910), a French artist associated with naïve art and primitivism.
