Story
Green leafy branches spread across a pale cream ground, dotted with small yellow blooms and simple cross-shaped marks worked into the design. The combination of plant forms and geometric symbols gives the image a quiet, patterned rhythm. Hilma af Klint, who lived from 1862 to 1944, worked in Sweden as a painter. She became associated with abstract art, a movement that moved beyond direct representation of the natural world.
