Story

Flowers in white, pink, and orange spread across a blue field, their petals and stems balanced in a symmetrical pattern dotted with simple geometric shapes. The piece belongs to a group titled Childhood and was made with tempera on paper mounted on canvas in 1907. Hilma af Klint (1862–1944), a Swedish painter, worked within abstract art, and the piece is held by the Hilma af Klint Foundation in Stockholm.
