Story

A deep red field holds pale curling shapes that seem to float and bend, crossed by thin colored lines and angular sections rendered in gold and tan tones, suggesting a quiet balance between softness and structure. The piece was made in oil in 1915. Hilma af Klint (1862–1944) was a Swedish painter associated with abstract art, working within this geometric visual language.
