Story

Curving blue and yellow bands sweep outward from a central point, set against a tan ground with a small red disk marking the core of the design. The arrangement feels symmetrical, as if tracing invisible orbits across the surface. The piece was made with tempera, gouache and graphite on paper mounted on canvas in 1908. Hilma af Klint (1862–1944), a Swedish painter, worked within abstract art.
