Story

A girl in a plain white dress stands close to an exaggerated, large woman dressed in yellow and red, their expressions sharply contrasted, while a crane waits between the two figures. The scene comes from an illustration for 'Alice in Wonderland' by Lewis Carroll, worked as a colour litho. John Tenniel, born in 1820 and died in 1914, was a British caricaturist and graphic artist, also known for Dropping the Pilot.
