Story

A young girl in a dress sits amid a courtroom full of creatures with human gestures and expressions, her sudden largeness disrupting the jury's enclosure. The animals react with alarm as the scene tips into disorder around her. This lithograph was created in 1891 by John Tenniel, a British artist born in 1820 and died in 1914, who worked as a caricaturist and graphic artist, also known for Dropping the Pilot.
