Story

A seated figure wears a towering hat and a polka-dotted jacket, leaning over a table crowded with teacups, his mouth open as if caught mid-speech. He is the Mad Hatter, drawn from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The piece is an engraving made in 1865 by John Tenniel, a British caricaturist and graphic artist who lived from 1820 to 1914 and also created Dropping the Pilot.
