Story
Circles, triangles, and curved shapes overlap in blue, yellow, green, orange, and white, forming an abstract geometric arrangement with no single focal point. The composition, titled Chinatown, was painted in oil on glass in 1917. Joseph Stella (1877–1946), an Italian-American artist, worked within Futurism and Precisionism, bringing a fractured, energetic sense of color and form to the scene. The piece belongs to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
