Story
A bottle, a pair of glasses, folded newspaper sheets, and fruit cluster together on a tabletop, rendered in brown and white tones set against a deep blue backdrop. Fragmented planes and angled surfaces break the objects apart and reassemble them in flattened, overlapping forms. The piece carries the title Trasse, Verres Et Bouteille (Le Journal), by Juan Gris (1887–1927), a Spanish artist associated with cubism.
