Moulin Rouge Poster

Story

A group of fashionably attired women crowned with oversized hats stands near a mustached gentleman, all set against a dark background touched with gold and green highlights, in a design announcing the Moulin Rouge theatre. The composition appears as an Art Nouveau poster created in 1906 by Jules Alexander Grun (1868–1938), a French artist associated with Post-impressionism who also worked as a caricaturist and graphic artist.

Where it works

Warm-toned artwork suited to media rooms and living rooms, and to restaurants, in a vertical format.
