Story

A woman dressed in white perches on a stool, palette and brush in hand, while a black cat rests near her feet. Behind her glows a round red field framed with lettering announcing an exhibition of paintings and drawings. This color lithograph dates from 1888. Jules Chéret (1836–1932), a French artist associated with Art Nouveau, created the piece as part of Les Maîtres de l'affiche, Volume 3.
