Story

Angular shapes stack and shift across a pale backdrop, their edges painted in red, black, yellow, and blue, crossing and overlapping like fragments of architecture caught mid-assembly. The piece carries the title House under construction, made in 1915. Kazimir Malevich (1879–1935), tied to the Russian Empire and Soviet Union, worked within Suprematism and the Russian avant-garde, also known for Black Square.

Where it works

A warm-toned abstract suited to living rooms and media rooms, and to boardrooms, in a vertical format.
