Story

A dark fish glides near the surface, positioned above a cluster of red fish and brown rocks resting in water tinted blue. The scene is rendered as a watercolor illustration, created in 1963. Leo Lionni (1910–1999), an American and Italian artist who worked as a children's writer, designer, and graphic artist, made this piece, part of his book Swimmy.

Where it works

A cool-toned seascape suited to kids' rooms and bedrooms, and to hotel guest rooms, in a vertical format.
